The Reflective Portfolio is a means to review what you have learnt on a weekly basis. How the theoretical concepts relate to your past/current experiences and how they could be applied to enhance your performance as hotel leader.
Whereas traditional academic projects expect students to be objective and impersonal, a Reflective Portfolio asks students to highlight their own perspectives, and opinions. It provides an accurate summary of the work undertaken and the thought process developed.
Task Instructions:
• Discuss critically any challenges, areas of confusion or other thoughts relating to your weekly learning experience. Ensure your major ideas are supported by academic references and use proper paragraphing.
• You MUST use the first person to share your reflections. E.g., “I learned this week that…”, “This notion made me reflect…” etc
• Avoid presenting descriptive information, that is to say, no repeating theoretical concepts covered during the sessions neither copying nor pasting content from academic articles and textbooks.
• You MUST frame your reflections using a minimum of 12 credible academic sources (in-text references) to QUALIFY for a pass. Lecture slides are NOT an appropriate reference.
• Cite your sources appropriately using APA 7th Edition Referencing and Academic Writing Guide on Blackboard.
