Context:
Choose your favourite Olympic sport and assume you work in the State Association of this sport. Your home city has been selected to host the next National Championships of this sport. Participants from all states of Australia will travel to your city to participate in the National Championships. If the athletes perform well at the National Championships it could lead to selection in the Australian Olympic Team.
Note that the sport that you choose for Assessment 2 will also be used in Assessment 3.
You have been given the responsibility of creating the Local Organising Committee (LOC) to plan and implement the National Championships. The LOC will be a separate legal entity with its own Board and you will represent your State Association on this Board.
Instructions
This is an individual report of 1500 words plus references.
Refer to Modules 1 and 2 and address the following:

? Create a Local Organising Committee (LOC) to plan and implement this event.
? Document the main purpose of the LOC to highlight its intent.
? Determine the structure of the LOC/Board to ensure all the major stakeholders are represented.
? Highlight the governance structure that connects the LOC with your State and National Associations.
? Discuss the relevant Governance Principles outlined by the Australian Sports Commission and adopt those that are suitable for your Board.
? Discuss the benefits of Incorporation for the LOC.
? Discuss the benefits of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) for the Board should conflicts arise.
? Summarise in a table the stakeholders you will engage and contract to support your event.
? Consider International policy that may impact on your Board and the National Championships, for example the IOC Olympic Charter, the IOC 2020 Agenda or policy developed by your International Federation.
