Performance objective
Candidates are required to develop several new policy documents to support wellbeing initiatives in the workplace and demonstrate ability to support others to reach program objectives.
Assessment description
Following on from Assessment Task 2, develop an implementation manual to assist managers in establishing an EAP for their work team, including:
• relevant policies for the program
• program guidelines
• program milestones and timelines • a tracking system for monitoring progress • a template for progress reports.
You will then participate in a coaching or mentoring role-play.
Procedure
1. Prepare an implementation manual for the employee assistance program (EAP) that details:
a. policies relevant to the program:
i. mission statement
ii. workplace health policy

iii. employee support and assistance policy iv. performance management policy
b. monitoring strategy for employee performance with regard to implementing the program in accordance with personal targets and performance management policy
c. process for tracking progress toward program milestones for participants
d. guidelines for employee participation in the program
e. program milestones and objectives
f. timelines for achieving milestones and objectives
g. a template for the progress report, including suggested headings and required information.
2. Arrange with your assessor to role-play coaching or mentoring an employee to meet organisational/program objectives in accordance with performance management policy.
3. Participate in role-play. In the role play, ensure you provide feedback on performance and support the employee to meet performance expectations.
4. Submit your implementation manual in accordance with the specifications below. Specifications
You must:
• provide a written manual, based on headings provided in the procedure section above
• participate in a coaching or mentoring role-play to help employee meet performance objectives.
Your assessor will be looking for:
• evidence that you have provided adequate information under each heading that will assist a manager in implementing the EAP.
Distance-based learners:
• complete assessment as per instructions.
