Aveo Group Limited’s reputation has taken a big hit from the Four Corners study aired on ABC on Monday, 26th June 2017 in which Aveo was accused of ripping off customers almost all of them elderly and vulnerable, at its retirement villages. Following the media coverage, Aveo’s share price plunged 11 per cent to a new twoyear low. There are also allegations that Aveo had in place complex contracts and exorbitant fees.

Required
a. Critically evaluate Aveo’s financial management policies and practices with respect to their social responsibility and social outcomes of their actions. Do you think Aveo should consider the ramifications of their financial decisions on sustainability and social responsibility? Ensure that your analysis is carried out with reference to corporate social responsibility principles, corporation’s objectives, code of ethics and ethical principles and theories.
b. Using publicly available data, analyse Aveo as an investment proposition with particular reference to its share price history and history of traded volumes over the past 2 years, identifying the main causes of its volatility in share price and traded volumes.
The report should comprise the following sections:

The report must:
• be typed using one-and-a half (1.5) spacing left justified.
• use Arial or Times New Roman font size 12.
• display a one inch margin on all sides.
• appropriately cite reference original work, author(s) etc. Citation and referencing must conform to Harvard or APA referencing system.
The assignment is to be submitted via LEO/Turnitin by 8 Sept 2017 at 5pm . Penalties will be applied for late submission. Submissions received after 5pm on 8/9/2017 but within 72 hours will be subject to a deduction of 10% of the maximum available mark. Submissions received after 72 hours of the submission deadline will receive a zero (0) award. The assignment carries a word limit of 1,000 words, plus exhibits.
