For your report:
Give a brief discription of the experiment along with an appropriate diagram.
Present the results as a graph of the distribution of - plotted against / , which is the distance across the channel divided by the width of the channel.
Calculate the log mean temperature difference for the flow through the duct, find the convection coefficient h and the Nusselt number .
Argue whether your results make sense or not.
Also, the airspeed through the duct was measured using a constant temperature hot-wire anemometer. Find out how these devices work and include a one page description of these devices along with appropriate diagrams in your report.
Note that the tube containing the hot-wire was 20 in diameter. Comment on the effect of this tube on the channel flow.
Note that for the hot plate, = 0.0112 and = 0.106 .
If all else fails use the following data. The width of the duct is = 75, the velocity of the airflow is measured at 0.1 / and the power to the hot plate is 19.9 .
