ASSESSMENT ITEM 2: Online case study presentation and peer review
Due date: Assessment will be due according to your tutorial allocation: Please check the unit assessment table on Blackboard.
PART ONE: Online case study presentation
Unit weighting: 20%
Length: 15 minutes maximum. Any material exceeding 15 minutes will not be marked.
Task requirements: This assessment builds on the feedback you received for the case study abstract. It is designed to provide you with an opportunity to discuss the clinical priorities in the management of the case, which will form the basis of assessment item 3.
› A key part of this assessment is identifying key sources of evidence you will use to critically analyse your case study in assessment 3 based on a review of the literature.
You should use a maximum of 10 narrated PowerPoint slides (excluding references). Instructions for creating and submitting your presentation online are available on blackboard. The structure of your case study presentation should clearly address the following points:
• Provide a detailed clinical handover of your patient using the ISBAR approach. During the “assessment” component, make sure you discuss ALL of the patient’s clinical problems and how these were managed with nursing and/or collaborative interventions. Further, in the
“recommendation” component, identify 1 or 2 of the priority clinical problems that will be the focus of assessment item 3. (8 slides maximum)
• Review the literature to identify the highest quality evidence-based literature available (i.e., clinical guidelines and systematic reviews ) that is most relevant to the 1 or 2 clinical priorities you have chosen to address in assessment 3. Justify how and why you chose this literature in the analysis of your case study. You should explain why this literature is related to the case study and how it supports (or does not support) the interventions for the patient. (2 slides maximum)
Very important point: You must maintain patient confidentiality when completing this assessment. Any patient data used must be de-identified so that the patient remains anonymous.
Late submission of assignments: Assessment submitted after the due date without an approved extension will not be marked and will receive a mark of zero. Please be aware that a presentation submitted even 1
minute after it is due will receive a mark of zero. If special circumstances prevent you from meeting the assessment due date, you can apply for an extension. If you don’t have an approved extension you should submit the work you have completed by the due date and it will be marked against the assessment criteria.
Grading and feedback: CRA feedback will be provided by your tutor.
PART TWO: Peer review

NSB026
Length: Maximum of 800 words (excluding references) for the following 2 questions (approximately 400 words each).

2. Justify whether you agree with the recommendations made about the patient’s priorities of care.
Format of assignment: Your answers should be written in a scholarly way and prepared with:
• Clear identification of the student presentation on which your peer review is based (i.e., student name/number and presentation title)
• Single-sided printing
• 3 cm margins on all sides, double-spaced text
• Times new roman, font size 12
• QUT APA style referencing (see http://www.citewrite.qut.edu.au/)
