will be based on a paper dealing with an issue in urban planning that you find of interest - one facing the nation, California, or your own community.
The paper 10 pages, and should contain a bibliography. It is expected that the students will draw from sources other than the assigned readings – either from other texts, newspaper articles, or from sources drawn from the Internet. We will discuss the logistics of doing this paper in class. Each student should submit a short memo on January 20th identifying the issue selected and why.
