Part A: Curriculum plan (1500 words)
The first part of this assignment requires you to plan and design two innovative lesson plans using the Primary lesson plan template (DOCX 46 KB) Download Primary lesson plan template (DOCX 46 KB)provided. Using the Australian or relevant state/territory curriculum frameworks, you are to provide one detailed lesson plan for each of the following:
Lesson Plan 1: Visual Arts (Select a grade from F–2).
Lesson Plan 2: Design and Technologies (Select a grade from 3–6).
In Part A, you must incorporate into your lesson plans:
specific pedagogical approaches for the teaching of Visual Arts and Design and Technologies
connections to other aspects of the curriculum (e.g. English, History, Science, Physical Education) and/or cross-curricular priorities (Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Perspectives, Sustainability, Social Capabilities and Critical and Creative Thinking)
an element of ICT, using the Digital Technologies content descriptions or ICT General Capabilities
consideration of assessment, differentiation and inclusive practice.

Chapter 4 Planning for quality teaching and learning (PDF 925 KB)Links to an external site. (Killen, 2013, pp. 86–109), which delves into the importance of effective lesson planning and thoroughly unpacks the various components of a lesson plan.
Chapter 5 General capabilities and integrated curriculum (PDF 633 KB)Links to an external site. (Brady & Kennedy, 2014, pp. 58–72).
Part B: Analysis (500 words)
In Part B, you are required to critically analyse your pedagogical approaches in the teaching, learning and assessment of Visual Arts and Design and Technologies, including the use of ICT.
Consider the following questions:
How do your lessons demonstrate a learning environment that is supportive of creativity?
Why are Visual Arts and Design and Technologies a powerful vehicle for cross-curricular teaching, including the importance of ICT?
How will you foster opportunities for reflection and feedback during the creative process and why is this important?
Note: You must draw upon the essential unit readings, relevant curriculum, course materials, and other contemporary literature to support your analysis. Your work must be referenced and cited throughout and a full reference list provided in APA (7th edition) at the end of your assignment. Your reference list should be on a separate page and will not be included in the word count.
