For this assessment I have asked you to write a critical analysis about a social problem of your choosing, that we could use social marketing to address. Examples of social problems include the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, obesity, racism, gender inequality, homelessness, energy hardship, and so on.
Social Marketing involves the strategic use of marketing principles, concepts and techniques to influence behaviour and social change that benefit individuals and communities for the greater social good. During AMN449 this semester we will be learning about the principles and practice of Social Marketing and how it could be used for behaviour and social change to tackle social problems.
Your work for this piece of assessment should:
1. Draw upon scoping research to provide a background to the social problem
2. Present a systems analysis on influences on the issue 3. Consider the competition to behaviour and social change.
4. Offer a critique of existing/previous efforts to tackle the social problem you have selected 5. Provide some discussion of the implications emerging from your critical analysis and reflections on what future social marketing programmes should do to tackle the social problem.
Please make sure to define and explain key concepts, and to provide illustrative examples to support your arguments. Please use appropriate citation references when referring to concepts, data, research findings, or relevant examples in the text.
In addressing this assessment item, you will need to apply knowledge of social marketing principles, concepts, and techniques to a real-world situation.
Guidelines and format for the assessment are noted above.
The criterion-referenced (CRA) marking rubric has also been made available to you and can be found on the unit's Blackboard page. This outlines the standards of the assessment task to you. The CRA marking rubric contains descriptors of the standards for the stated criteria for this assessment in the form of a matrix.
Please submit your assignment online through the Turnitin link on Blackboard.
