Assessment Task
Working in the same group as Assessment 2a, create a Project Implementation Proposal detailing the integration of the disruptive technology, presented in the Assessment 2a Group presentation. Each group member is required to act as a Department Head and work individually to develop an implementation strategy for your allocated department. Then as a group, integrate the various department strategies into a consolidated project implementation proposal for submission.
Context
Hotels must not only keep up with the latest innovations but also effectively and swiftly implement these innovations in order to remain competitive in the industry. Project management principles, already widely used in the hotel industry, provide a solid foundation for implementing such organisational strategic changes. Department leaders are usually in charge of implementing changes and executing project proposals. Therefore, it is critical that they have an overall understanding of how the project needs to be aligned and implemented across all departments. The project also has to be strategically aligned to the goals of the organisation.
Instructions
1. Assume that your pitch from Assessment 2a has been accepted. Now you have been tasked to prepare a project implementation proposal.
2. As a team, reflect on your Assessment 2a presentation and feedback received.
3. Each of your group members must again take the role of Department Head involved in the implementation of this technological innovation. For example: Front Office, Housekeeping, Sales and Marketing, Engineering, Food and Beverage.
4. Use project management fundamentals and strategies to describe the process of planning, implementing and integrating the technological innovation across each allocated department, and then into the hotel as a whole. Aspects to consider are:
i. Timelines
ii. Resources (Staff, Software, Equipment)
iii. Customer Engagement iv. Marketing and
v. Budgets
As a group, collaboratively decide how you would like to divide the work to complete the assessment task. It is recommended that each team member can work on one or two aspects mentioned above, or each team member completes all aspects for their specific department.
5. Collectively, consolidate your strategic suggestions. You will need to work as a closely connected group to bring together your plans and actionable strategies as part of the change management and project management plan for the adoption of the proposed disruptive technology across all departments.
Write a 3500-words Project Implementation Proposal. Please structure your implementation proposal as follows: Title Page
