Activities
Complete the following activities:
1. Carefully read the following:
This project requires you to work with a client to identify their business requirements in relation to ICT systems and then collect further information about these requirements to come up with system solutions.
This project can be based on the case study business in the ICT simulation pack. You will be collecting evidence for this unit in a Project Portfolio. The steps you need to take are outlined below.
2. Preparation
Make sure you are familiar with the business you are basing this assessment on and have read through the necessary background information and documentation. This is all of the documents included in the ICT simulation pack.
Complete Page 4 of your Project Portfolio for this unit. Read through the requirements of Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of your Project Portfolio.
3. Business relationship
You are now to complete Section 1 of your Project Portfolio.
When you complete Section 1, you need to document preliminary information about the client and their system requirements including:
• organisational structure
• organisation culture and internal politics
• internal and external stakeholders
• an initial view of the business problem and further information you would like to find out about
• information gathering methods that would be most appropriate to use to find out further information about client requirements.
• Suggested schedule to be followed throughout the project.
Complete Section 1 of your Project Portfolio.
Submit your Portfolio to your assessor. In the next activity you will participate in a stakeholder meeting and discuss your work.

Your assessor will play the role of the client and provide you with further information.
Each person in your group will discuss their findings and will have a turn of approximately 5 minutes per person).
Make notes on the further information you receive as you will need to use this information in the next activity.
Complete Section 2 of your Project Portfolio, documenting the agreed scope of the project and system requirements and confirming project objectives and outcomes.
If you are completing this may like to video record the session for your assessor to watch later. Your assessor can provide you with more details at this step. Make sure you follow the instructions above and meet the timeframes allocated.
5. Information gathering
Assume that it was decided that the most appropriate way to collect feedback from stakeholders regarding their needs in relation to the ICT system is to design and administer a survey to stakeholders. You are required to manage this information gathering process.
You are also to complete your own research on learning management systems as per the questions in your Portfolio.
Complete Section 3 of your Project Portfolio.
6. Information analysis
Assume that the following responses have been received in response to the survey.
