Assessment 1 - Written assessment (25%)
Students are to write an application for a Graduate Year Position, including a CV and Cover letter, using the information and criteria provided in the attached Hospital information document for St Albans Health.
1000 words nominal (see specific criteria in the information provided). Note - meeting the criteria is more important than meeting the word count.
Fictitious information can be used for referees and a script font must be used for your signature for the assignment.
Due Friday, 29th March by 11-55pm.
Turnitin will not be used for this assignment.
The marking grid (CV and Cover Letter marking guide) as a separate file in the assessment information folder of VUC and reproduced in the Unit guide will be used to mark the paper.
Your cover letter and CV will be submitted into the Assessment 1 drop box in VU Collaborate. It should be submitted as a Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) document.
The aim of this assessment is to assist students to think about and start to develop the documents they will need to produce for their graduate year applications later in the year. Many hospitals use the same criteria as these, however you need to check what each health service is requesting, as there are variations between requirements.
The feedback given can help students improve these documents prior to their applications.
