Topic: Development of Management Theories from the Human Relations Movement to the Behavioural Science Approach
General Framework
Against a background of the prevailing wisdom of the early 1900s, in particular Scientific Management theory, describe the emergence of the Human Relations perspective of management and the subsequent development of the Behavioural Science approach.
Behavioural science research expects to be scrutinized and expects that criticism will be levelled against any findings that come out of the research. In each of the cases below, describe the methodology and identify the weaknesses that prompted serious criticism of the research.
