The purpose of this assessment task is to find a research question that is novel in nature. For this, the student has to write a brief report after conducting a literature review. This assessment has two purposes:
1) It demonstrates your knowledge on the selected research topic. This implies more than reporting what was read and understood. In involves critical analysis of literature, demonstrates the most important issues in this stream, and relevance to your topic, etc.
2) It justifies the reason for your proposed study. Thus, this is connected with identifying a gap in literature that your research could fill. Furthermore, the student has to convince the reader on the importance of this research.
See the structure of the report in the next page -
