Please complete the attached short answer responses for me by 12 noon (Australian time) on Friday the 11th April (this Friday). Please email me the completed document.

Please respond to four questions by choosing one from each section, by providing responses of between 450-550 words each (2000 words in total). I dont mind which question out of each pair you choose to answer.

These short essay questions will require you to address the specific question and to provide detailed information, including a reference which is not included in the word count. The assessment criteria for the short essay responses are as follows:

The extent to which your answers demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant issues, concepts, processes, methods, practices, discourses and ideological frameworks (30%);
The extent to which your responses demonstrate critical analysis and reflective capability in relation to the required contexts (30%);
The demonstrated capacity to utilise and integrate relevant literature and theory to inform responses about human service practice - 30%.
The degree of written literacy displayed in the answer (10%).

Question B 1- Organisational (5 marks)

Answer either:

(a) You are a social worker employed within a non-government agency in Queensland. Describe and analyse a conceptual framework/ approach that you (the social worker) might use to critically examine and understand the organisational and sector context in which you operate.

(b) Describe and analyse a conceptual framework/ approach a social worker might use to critically examine and understand the rapidly shifting organisational and sector context for child protection in Queensland following the changes resulting from the Carmody Inquiry.

Answer either:

(a) Outline the legal context for social work practice in youth justice in Queensland, highlighting key aspects of the relevant legislation, and how this affects the legal and ethical responsibilities of a social worker. Refer to a variety of organisational contexts.

Question B 3 – Ethical (5 marks)

Answer either:

(a) What are the key characteristics of Deontological and Teleological approaches to ethical practice, and how do these differ from relational ethics frameworks?

(b) Critically analyse the Australian Association of Social Worker’s Code of Ethics (2010), with particular reference to its utility for guiding and promoting high quality ethical practice when working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Question B 4 – Integrative (5 marks)

Answer either:

(a) “The human services is an area traditionally equated with ’women’s work’-women are over-represented as workers and clients (Dale & Foster 1986, p. 96). However, men are overrepresented as managers and they appear to reach these positions much more quickly than women”. Critically examine this statement.

(b) Describe how the organisational, legal and ethical contexts of practice influence how social workers engage, relate with, and assist, clients and service users.
