I'm a Bachelor of Education student and I'm hoping that you can help me out with an upcoming assignment that has a rather close due date... Ideally, I'm needing your help / suggestions as soon as possible, ideally on or by 1pm on Tuesday of next week (22/9) - any sooner would be a huge bonus!
Instead of sending you the actual assignment, I thought I would send you some dot points of what I need, along with some suggested word limits for each item.
I need to use APA referencing (6th edition) and hope that you can use scholarly items like journal articles or other reliable sources (e.g. government department documents, ABS etc.) I would like you to help me out with writing the information / paragraphs for each item, and include appropriate in text references, as well as the full reference so that I can include it in a reference list (I hope that makes sense?)
The topic for this assignment is about Australian Indigenous people and their issues. I need to set the scene by discussing some relevant parts of history and documents etc. But then tie this back to teaching and how to help Indigenous kids in the classroom. The help I need is to mainly set the scene for what has happened in the past, and what are the issues that affect Indigenous people etc?
Here's what I need your help with doing / finding out:
1. Definition of the key terms: Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and Indigenous (all in regards to Australian Indigenous people, not other Aborigines / Indigenous people of the world)
Word count = a sentence or two for each of the above key terms
2. An overview of historical events that have affected Indigenous people in Australia. I need to specifically mention:
- first colonisation / invasion (1788 - when other people first came to Australia)
- stolen generation / assimilation
- issues with rights and discrimination (e.g. - relating to things like not being able to vote, have same rights as non-Indigenous people in Australia)
Word count = approx 500 - 600 words
3. An overview / explanation of:
- 'Practical Reconciliation' - to do with Prime Minister John Howard and the government in 1996 onwards
- ' Closing the Gap' - to do with Prime Minister Kevin Rudd in 2007 onwards
- Kevin Rudd saying 'sorry' and apologising to the stolen generations - how this happened and what this meant...
- A brief very explanation of National Sorry Day and what date it is
Word count = approx 500 words
4. Please provide a brief overview / explanation of these two United Nations documents:
- UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (2007)
- UN Worlds Indigenous Peoples Report (2009)
The above document are to do with the worlds Indigenous people, not specifically Australia's. I need to some how relate this back to Australian Indigenous people... Please feel free to mention any other links between the UN documents and the 'Closing the Gap' in Australia.
Word count = approx 300 words
5. What are the issues that affect Australia's Indigenous people today?
- I need to list main issues and statistics for anything you can find (that's as recent as possible and from reputable sources) to do with health, housing, employment, welfare - and specifically any statistics to do with children / young people and education.
Word count = a paragraph or two - just enough to list what the issue is and to provide stats and a reference.
Are you able to help?
If so, please send me a quote so I know how much this will cost.
I look forward to your reply!
