TASK 2 – Preliminary analysis of proposed online business and e-commerce strategy
For Task 2 you are required to conduct a preliminaryanalysis ofaproposed online business and develop an e-commerce strategy and prototype web site.You will be randomly assigned a particular business model and category in the first week of the course. You are required to ensure that both your Assignments 2 and 4 meet the criteria to be classed within,and is directly related to, the business model and category assigned to you. Failure to do so will result in your assignments being rejected and no marks will be allocated to them.
The report must address the following in your proposed e-commerce strategy:
1. Conduct an environmental analysis (800 words) of your proposed e-commerce presence, keeping in mind the potential for global e Business and focusing on the following:
a. Value propositions of your e-commerce presence
b. Core competencies that can be enabled/enhanced through an e-commerce presence
c. Market and trends analysis regarding your proposed e-commerce strategy
d. Evaluation of youre-commerce presence in terms of Porter’s competitive forces model (http://www.buildmyonlinestore.com/articles/how-defensible-is-your-e-commerce-business-model/)
2. List and describe how thestrategic goals and objectives of your organisation will be addressed in your proposed e-commerce website (500 words).
3. Identify what key stakeholders/customerswill want from your proposede-commerce website, and how this fits with the goals of the e-commerce website and the organization (400 words).
4. Briefly describe and justify the e-Commerce business model(s) that will be used in your e-commerce website. (500 words).
5. List and briefly describe the potential risks associated with your proposed e-commerce strategy and presence. (300 words).
