EMC Updates: Individual Essay
? This assessment requires each student to write an individual essay exploring and critically analysing development of new businesses or new ventures In an existing business using one key entrepreneurial theoretical or accepted framework.
? Students will critically discuss a specific new business or new venture in an existing business using one key entrepreneurial theoretical or accepted framework either outlined in the lecture or Resources Material in Sessions 1-3, or using other relevant theories or frameworks as agreed with the Lecturer.
? Each student must select a specific new business or new venture within an existing business by the end of Session 2. Critical discussion should include:
• Background on Business and New Product/Service/Business Development
* Brief discussion on selected Entrepreneurial Theory or Framework
• Application of selected Entrepreneurial Theory or Framework through discussion of Creation, Development, Delivery and changes associated with the new business or venture
* Conclusions including at least two key insights on an Entrepreneurial perspective of developing the new business or venture
? The selected specific new business or new venture in an existing business and detailed information associated with it may be drawn from:
• Academic case studies
• Professional and/or company case studies
• News or documentaries that effectively represent examples
• Personal compilation of professional materials into an effective examples
• Personal experience with method (students may need to gain their company's permission to use such sources, or it could be disguised or presented as an effective Hypothetical)
