Im needing help with a history essay. Ive attached the directions below.
The United States formally entered World War II when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. However, despite its officially neutral stance, the U. S. took many actions--particularly in Asia, with respect to China and Japan--that one might describe as provoking Japan into war. Write a 3-5 page formal essay describing: (a) the reasons for U. S. Neutrality; (b) how President Roosevelt responded to Neutrality after Japan invaded China in 1937 (Negotiations); (c) how Roosevelt responded to Neutrality after the commencement of WWII in Europe (September. 1939); (d) the actions taken by Roosevelt after Japan invaded Indochina in September of 1940; (e) Japans response to (especially to [d] and how that led to Pearl Harbor.

Margins: 1” all around.
Header: Single-spaced header, using the header function, in upper left corner. Include student name, date of submission, class name (HIST 1301-###), and assignment name. Number page using the paper-numbering function, bottom, center. Then one double space and begin paper. DO NOT WRITE A TITLE FOR YOUR ESSAY. (You can located both the Header function and Page Numbering function in Word by going to the Insert tab and clicking that. The two functions area located there. Look at the top ribbon until your find them.)
Spacing: excluding the header and individual entries on the Works Cited page, the paper is double spaced.
Page numbering: every page shall be numbered where the number in the bottom center of each page, including the Works Cited page.
Paragraphs: paragraphs shall be indented, no less than five and no more than seven spaces.
Font: Arial or Times-New Roman, 12 point.

Please write multiple drafts of your paper. Check each version for common writing mistakes, especially passive voice. Use spell check and grammar check before submitting your paper. (Best practice: get a second party, preferably someone at the Writing Center, to proofread your paper before submission.) Look over your VeriCite/Turnitin report after submission. Go back over the matched portions in your work and and see if the you cant paraphrase more of your work. (If you do use a direct quotation, you must cite the source, both within the paragraph (immediately following the sentence) and in your Works Cited.

Works Cited page
Use the -Page Break- function to establish a clear break between the body of your paper and your Works Cited page. If you establish a Works Cited page at the very beginning of the writing process, then if/when you use a direct quote, you can immediately add it to your Works Cited page, in the proper location (i.e., Books first, Internet Sources second.
This page must be numbered properly as part of your submission.
