Her son Alex aged 36 has reported that since Janek died the house is in a state of disarray and Ivanka has “never been the same”. Alex would like to help his mother and states it his duty as a son to support her in her home and be cared for by his Australian wife Jane.
Jane feels strongly that Ivanka requires residential care and wants Ivanka to move to a nursing home as soon as possible. Ivanka does not see what “all the fuss is about.” She is happy in her home the way it is and does not want to move or have any “strangers” doing housework in the house. She also mentioned to her specialist/geriatrician that $10,000 is missing from her bank account and she is not sure where the money went. You are a social work student in the hospital and have been asked to see Ivanka to assess her for future care planning.
