Assessment Overview:
Choose a local or international company producing a fashion or textiles product. Analyse and evaluate the
various stages of product development and develop an operations calendar and accompanying report.
Assignment instructions:
Conduct comprehensive research into a local or international company producing a fashion or textiles product. Manufacturing and production may be offshore on onshore. Primary research into a local operator is encouraged. Provide an overview of the company, their product, positioning strategy and relationship to their target customer.
Examine the operational logistics of the company including sourcing and supply, manufacturing and production, quality control and distribution and transport. Examine the operations over a 12 month period, and develop an operations calendar to reflect two seasons of operation. This can take the form of a table or calendar format, with a 1000 word report supporting and interpreting the document.
Demonstrate the theoretical learning of product development supply chains and their management and apply to your chosen company.
